The 'Home' or 'Start' page is changed to a porn site or some other advertising heavy web site and it can't be changed back to the desired page because of the malicious code has taken over your system.

Link Farm: Slang for a useless web site that has no meaningful content, just a bunch of links to other web sites. These sights are usually setup to capture the traffic generated by users that misspell a common web address and often lead to a homepage hijacking attempt!
