How do I know if I need Windows 10?

The most likely chance of encountering problems is to install it over the top of an existing Windows operating system, especially if the system is currently experiencing problems. What are the Hardware Requirements for Windows 10?

Microsoft has posted minimum hardware requirements for Windows 8:

  • A processor running at 1GHz or higher
  • 1 GB of system memory (RAM) (2GB for 64-bit processors)
  • A graphics processor that is DirectX 9 capable
  • 16GB Free Hard Drive Space (20GB for 64 bit systems)

In addition, to fully take advantage of all the grahpics enhancements and other features, you should also include:

  • DVD-ROM Drive
  • Audio output
  • Internet access
