How to renew your ip address?

my computere is 3 months old i have comcast cable internet and for some odd reason my computer cannot renew my ip adress i unistalled my comcast software and tried to reinstall it but it will not install until i get my ip to renew i really need to fix thsi problem asap thanx

I see you've tried to renew your address but i would tell you to try to release the address before you renew it so, type in ipconfig/release, then do the ipconfig/renew command and then this should work for you just fine--Robert Outlaw
