What is direct3D

ok of course i like video games but when i downloaded Halo the dem o for my computer it says that "A problem occured intializing Direct3D. Hard ware acceleration maybe disabled, please run DXDIAG." ifrts i dont kno how ot fix direct3D and seocnd how do i run DXDIAG?

You must need a new version of direct3D uninstall your original version then go to microsoft.com and download the lastest version or the one the game is asking for also check the halo box to make sure that halo can be played on your computer look for the specifications so you know what your need to make the game run on your computer.
