Don't understand why the PC loses time, and also choppy performance from mouse and keyboard, even though CMOS battery was recently replaced and still no change in behavior. Fine after reboot, (mouse and keyboard) but after some time, the choppy behavior starts acting up and a reboot is necessary to clear up. Any ideas?

Sounds like you may need an upgrade in RAM If your system clock is running fine again after replacing the CMOS battery and your PC is still sluggish, you may need more RAM
