I have a problem with my dsl connection. When I got my laptop in April I had a cable modem and it worked fine. Then I went away on training for a few months and I had dial up and it worked fine. I visited my dad for a weekend and tried to use his cable modem and it wouldn't connect and now I have moved again and have dsl and it won't connect. I get the error that the Page cannot open... cannot find server dns error.

What could the problem be? The card is talking to the modem, but it isn't seeing anything outside of that (I don't think).

Thanks,

Chad

I would tell you the best thing for you to do is to release and renew your ip address Go to the start menu, then run, and type in command This will bring up a black command line screen Type in cd\ then press enter this will bring you to the root directory, which in most cases is the c drive or which ever drive you're useing as your main drive Next you type in ipconfig/release, then once that is done, type in ipconfig/renew If it doesn't allow you to properly proform because of the way typed put a space between the slash and the next word--Robert Outlaw
