What is a disk clean up?

After booting up, I get this message:

you have performed an illegal operation, and you system will be shut down

Details: Explorer caused an invalid fault in Module <unknown>at 0000:01497198

What you should do is defrag your pc then do a clean up and you should be good to go because i had the same problem
