Windows 2000

If my pc has been on for a while either in use, sleep mode or left on for the the day certain programs will not open when selected, eg visual basic or widows media player. They come up with error messages. Only when the the pc is shut down and restarted can they be opened. Is this problem a function of my operating system?

Maybe your you might have a faulty power supply that is causing the error.
