Virus Problems?

I have a virus program but I still got a virus on my computer how did it get thru and how do I get rid of it? I have Nortons anti virus.

First of all you have to update your virus program I do mine everyday because new viruses come out and can infect your machine if you dont update Also to get rid of the virus first update your norton by clicking live update then you can run your virus program to check for viruses.
