What to do to boot successfully?

when booting computer, I can't get past the WINDOWS 2000 screen. Have tried Safe Mode

etc.

This question was answered on November 6, 2003. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.


Boot to the Advanced Option menu and select Safe Mode, Once in Safe Mode, run antivirus software Boot to the Advanced Option menua nd select Last Known Good Configuration to restore the Registery, to its state during the last successful boot If you have other backups of the Registery, try restoring it from these backups Boot from the Windows 2000 CD or from the four Windows 2000 setup disks.
