To have a dual boot you need to have a what?

Can I run 2 hard drives with the choice to boot off of one or the other. Both with XP. I want it set up like two seperate systems in the same box.

Basically, yes you can, this is call a dual boot when you turn your PC and have two or more choice of choose which operating system to bootup.

If you want to create a Dual boot, first create a partition could be either a primary or extended or logical partition and then install the OS you want after that Windows will automatically add the second OS to the Boot.ini file.

After installing the OS and configure, once you reboot the computer you should be in the screen where you have the option of choosing which Windows version to boot If you want to reduce the time of booting the OS or boot it right all way, you can do this by going to the c:\ drive root and change the folder view option to display hiden folder and extension.
