What is installing the camera?

every time i plug my digital camera into the usb port in the pc it reboots...

Other then installing the software for the camera you need to install the camera itself for your pc to recognize it if you go to control panel then add remove programs on the left side it has install remove hardware click that follow the steps and you problem should not occur
