How to check if a file is corrupted.

I have a document on Word 2000 that I believe is corrupted. But I can't delete this document. Is there a way I can fix this document?

If you feel that you have a corrupted file you should really run a scan with your anti-virus software Also from Word you can go to help, and click detect and repair But you should really run the antivirus scan.
