I have a Canon BJC 250 parallel port printer. I purchased a USB to parallel adapter cable so I could free up my computer's parallel port. It literally takes 5 minutes for the print job to come out of the printer from the time I give the command to Print. I've updated the printer driver to an XP printer driver and also the USB driver. Whati's the problem?

What may be the problem is that the adapter you purchase was faulty that the pins are damaged.
