I have a HP 630 multi-function machine, which I use primarily for printing.
Since I have changed my operating system to XP I have trouble keeping this printer
interfacing with the computer.
I have downloaded and installed the updated driver from HP.
There are no other external attachments......scanner, etc.
Again today, my HP has "disconnected".....and when I re-boot it will
take 3-4 minutes to "load" the printer ..... then it may not complete the process.

ALTHOUGH ONE MAY HAVE THE PROPER DRIVERS FOR A SYSTEM, THOSE DRIVERS MAY NOT BE COMPATIBLE W/OS, IN THIS CASE XP THE FIRST STEP IS TO GO ON THE MICROSOFT SITE TO CHECK BOTH HARDWARE AND DRIVER COMPATABILITY, IF IT DOES NOT EXIST, LIKE IN THIS PROBLEM, ONE MAY FIND AN ADAPTER, OR A DIVER TO BRIDGE A 2000 DRIVER TO AN XP OR ONE MAY HAVE TO REPLACE THE PRINTER
