Open the computer and find a free PCI slot (or ISA if you have an ISA sound card).
Carefully insert your sound card into the slot (using a little bit of pressure).
Secure the card by screwing it into the case.
Now you are ready to plug the power cord back in and turn the computer on.
If you are running Windows, there is a great chance it will detect that you have new hardware Windows will look for drivers and you will likely be given the option "Have Disk." Insert the disk or CD that came with your sound card and select "Have Disk."
Windows should be able to locate the proper drivers to make your new sound card function Don't expect any audible results until you've plugged your speakers into the new sound card.
