When I boot up my computer, after I type my password, the screen only boots up to the screensaver. There are no icons, no task bar, nothing. I cntrl alt del, and there are no tasks running. I would like to re format the drives in the case I downloaded a virus. How can I do this?

Before reformatting a dirve it is improtant to back up all important data first Get a bootable disk that has the Fdisk.exe program file on it; then use Fdisk to partition the hard drive, and install enough of a privioous version of Windows on it to boot from it
