when my computer boots I get a screen that asks me to choose between Win XP or other unidentified OS on disk ( I have 2nd drive with partition magic istalled on it).

There is a timer that counts down from 12 seconds tillt he system continues to load windows.

I hav epreviosuly been able to tweek a registry setting to adjust this wait time to 2 seconds but it has reverted back to the default of 12 seconds and I have forgotten how to tweak the resgistry to shorten the wait time.

Could you possibly tell me how to tweak the registry to fix this problem/

Thanks

H Cohen

You really don't need to make adjust setting or delete setting in the register, beside is very risky to change setting because can harm your computer function, make sure you backup before you make some changes.

You can go to the c:\ root and find the boot.ini file, but first change the folder option in the tools menus and also take out the read-only in the boot.ini properties file.

Once you do this then you can open it and change the time, if you but zero there wouldn't a boot screen and will directly to to the default OS.

You can also do this as well in the system properties by goin to my computer properties, at the advanced tab and then click on startup and recovery tab and can change the number of second.
