My dad installed some more memory on my computer and when he started it back up it says IDE Primary Master......NONE. I've been trying some thigns and nothin seems to work. what should I do?
This question was answered on November 17, 2003. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.
Try these things:
1) As for the IDE primary master check inside the computer to see any of the cables are loose and needs to be plugged in, in case your father by mistake unplugged a cable
If the cables are fine then there's a chance that drive is bad and needs to be replaced.
2) For the memory check the setup at POST to see if the additional memory was updated.
The computer usually doesn't have too much problems with memory it usualy picks it up, but
with this you should be fine.
