While I was using my computer there was a small power surge from a storm. I do have a power bar and the machine did not go down. Now the computer freezes up after 5 - 10 minutes every time I use it. I have looked at the error log and there are none posted. I have also attempted to reload windows XP thinking that was the problem but the computer freezes up before I can reload. I have removed the program I was in at the time in case some of the files were corrupted to no avail. I have also defragged etc. but still no fix. If this is a hardware problem where and how do I check it or do I have to send it out for repair.

Thanks

Scott Reeve

During that power surge your computer may have still been on but something inside may have burnt out so that is whats freezing it your best bet is sending it in for repair
