Why computer might not turn on?

my moms computer won't turn on even if it is plugged in. at first it went really slow now it wont even go on

There is a switch on the back of the computer right above the power cord plug the switch has to be in the on possition or the computer will not turn on 1 means on 0 means off

When you try to turn on the computer look for any signs that it is getting power meaning is thereare any lights on at all if not try a different outlet, maybe different power surg strip if that is what you use, or try the first opption.
