You may need to reinstall the drivers for the cd-rom and the dvd drive Without the drivers it will not be able to identfy the hardware and it will not work You can get drivers off the internet for free most of the time Try driverguy.com

The floppy drives tries to read when you first turn on the computer or when windows open If it is when you first turn on the computer you may need to change the boot sequince in the bios Change it back to hard drive first.

Is this OS an upgrade or the origanl OS Some times with an upgrade it could be the worng drive format for example it could be FAT16 instead of NTFS or FAT32 or there just isnt enought memory.
