Network is running painfully slow.

My office is made up of 6 MAC's and 2 IBM clones. I am one of the clones (Fujitsu P3 Notebook running WinXP Pro) and I'm trying to share files with the other clone, a Dell P3.

The Dell P3 Desktop is running Win98SE. It has a Linksys Wireless Router that is broadcasting DSL broadband to my Fujitsu P3 notebook without a problem. I've also setup a workgroup so the Dell and I can share files in a peer-to-peer configuration, however, when I try to share files with the Dell, it takes forever (2 to 4 minutes) to process each separate command (reading or writing).

Any suggestions?

If you do not have all your nodes attached to that router and you have it in a partial bus topology that is the reason why it is slow What I recommend you do is hook all your nodes to a switch or an intelligent hub The reason why you are running slow is that there is not enough bandwith A switch or an intelligent hub will help with the throughput
