Mark --

Thanks for your response to my question (response dated Nov. 17) regarding my inability to put my Dell laptop to sleep. I followed your instructions (go to Properties/Screen Saver/Power Schemes and set all settings to "never"). However, no "Hybernate" button appears on that window (even after I clicked "Apply"), so I cannot set anything to "enable."

What now?

Thanks again for your help --

Steve Oswald

Steve i found another way you can go if you follow the same routine but instead of trying to find the hibernation button click on the advanced button now there should be three options the first one is the one that is concerned about what you want done it should say when you close your lid what do you want to happen if its in standby change it to do nothing apply it now by the minutes that your screen saver should be activated if the box that is next to it that says return to welcome screen is clicked on disable it and that should ix your problem.
