I have found some .exe files (adware and spyware) that Norton Antivirus has tried to delete but has failed. Norton's website suggests that I remove some values from the registry. But it also says that I may mess up the registry if I do. I have instructions on how to back up but the instructions also say that with XP, backing it up may mess it up. I am hesitant to proceed and am wondering if you folks can fix this?

Thanks

Scott Knutson

It's possible that these files could be trojans as well as other spyware I would go to downloads.com an search for adware/spyware removal tools and trojan removers, and these should help remove the files, because they specialize in removal of these tools--Robert Outlaw
