What is a worm?

I installed windows 2000 on my desktop. Few days it was absolutely working fine. But from last few weeks after I boot the OS it reboots on its own. Some times it reboots whenever I access internet explorer. Could you explain me what could be the problem ?

You may need to reinstall your OS over because it seems you may have a worm in ur computer that continues to reboot on its own.
