before a power outage I unplugged the computer just in case. I forgot to unplug the modem. we lost power. when the power came back on I found I couldn't get online. There are two ports to plug into in the back of my computer. The only way to get online is to let it dail up once, when the connection fails I change the plug to the other port just before it redails. after the second attempt it connects. it doesn't matter which one I plug into first, it always connects on the second time if I switch the plug at the right time. thanks- nancy

Nancy what you need to do is leave the modem plugged into the second port if this does not work the remove and reinstall the software for your modem
