What is the Bios?

Have a phoenix 88286 with ROM BIOS PLUS Version 3.10 I need to get company information off the machine. But when you turn it on it says Invalid configuration information-run setup program. When I insert the setup disk it says no boot device available, put in a boot disk. Please help. I have heard the hard drive can get off sink, and by reputing in a number it will reconfigure. I just need the information off the machine. Also it runs a Q and A program, I believe it is by microsoft, do you know if this program is still around and can I get one for Windows EP?

Pat what you need to do is enter the Bios change the settings so that it boots up from the drive you are installing the boot disk
