I want to install a DVD read/write. The requirements say I need a Pentium III. I have an AMD-K6 3D Processor. Will this work. Do you have an equivalancy chart that compares Pentiums to other manufacturers?

Thank You

Mike Williams

Well the speed of a Pentium III is between 450MHz to 1.2 GHz, the speed of AMD-k6 3D is nomarlly 300MHz to 475MHz, If your CPU is 450 MHz or more, your fine with the requirement.

If your processor is less than 450MHz, then It might work other wise look for another DVD-R that will support for your system Its important that you should have a good processor more than 450MHz because the DVD is not only reading and Rewriting but decoding or coding, so this require alot of process specially when you are decoding a DVD.

One thing is that this DVD-RW would work on your PC AMD, but for sure it will go slow if you are trying to Write or Read a DVD My suggestion is that if you are going to do alot of Writing or Reading on the DVD drive buy a new computer with a higher processor or otherwise don't use it to many often because this may cause your computer to hang or damage your DVD drive .

Also if you are using DVD drive, don't run a program while you are playing with the DVD-RW.
