How can I fix the problem of my computer freezing up?

at random times my computer keeps freezing i have no viruses and i cant think of any reason for the computer to freeze, so could you plz help me with this

One possible cause of the computer frezzing up is that the program you are running has encountered an internal error or needs more RAM than your computer has Press Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up the Taks Manager Locate the application from the list and click on End Task It is wise with Windows 98 to close all applications and restart Windows.

This could also be indicitive of a heating problem.
