My computer is not reading the floppy disk.

on boot up with three different 3 1/2 floppies i see the mesage:

floppy disk/s fail (40)

press f1 continues to load xp .

not sure but wonder if it's a bad fdc.

Check CMOS setting to see if you are reading from the A: or check your ROM BIOS on the system board.
