I downloaded a .avi movie file off the net recently. It is quite a large file, around 720MB. Now there is a major problem. Immediately after download, i tried renaming the file but there is always a popup that says: "Cannot rename/move/delete NAMED file: It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again."

Problem is, no other program is using the file. I tried restarting, but the same thing still... I also pressed CTRL-ALT-DELETE and tried to search under applications to see if the file was indeed being used without my knowledge...

I am now very afraid that someone has put a hacking patch like Netbus or Back Orifice together with the file and might try to hack into my comp. But a virus scan also revealed no problems. My comp has slowed down considerably althought CPU Usage is still around 3-4% and it takes time for programs to load up...

What can I do? Please help me!!!

My suggestion is to erase the file and restart you machine and pray to some higher force that it works :)
