Every day, at 8:00am I get booted off line, and cannot get back on until later in the day. I then notice that my home page has been redirected from AltaVista to Search-Space.com.
I also noticed in the Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs that I have fifteen entries that are labeled : Windows XP Hotfix (SP2) Q234567 (the six digits after the Q are all different) What is this ?
I have installed Spybot and cleaned up some nasties. I do not have a firewall, and currently do not have my PC-Cillin 2003 anti virus installed.
I run a cable modem to an Apple Airport for a Mac Power book. And then a cable from the airport to the PC. The Mac has never had any problems, only the PC
thank you for any help you can provide

Basically what Hotfix is, is an update for your computer Whenever you're online, Windows sometimes sees if there are any updates for the computer These are generally security updates to keep the user safer from any hackers, viruses, etc.
