Hi there, thanks for the response for my last question.

I have just bought a new Epson Stylus C43UX colour printer and while following the installation instructions (installing the driver from the cd), it comes up and says that "A usable port for this printer could not be found" Then proceeds to install the rest of the software and not the driver.

Going into control panel to "add printer" results in the message "Printer operation cannot continue due to lack of resources. Print subsystem is unavailable."

Going into device manager to find the driver finds one that is in Thai but not in English so I decide to try that anyway and it keeps saying that "The RPC server is unavailable"

Going to www.epson.com, I have reported this and found a newer driver but have yet to download it. I have some experience with computers and am quite irrate about this not installing the drivers. Imagine if you were a new computer user. A friend said to look for "cab" files on the cd but there aren't any.

Can anyone help?

Does anyone need a spare boat anchor?

IF THE MESSAGE STATES THAT THERE IS NO PORT AVAILABLE FOR PRINTER, ONE MUST DIVE INTO THE O/S, IN THIS CASE WIN 2000, GO TO CONTROL PANEL, AND MAKE SURE THAT COM1 IS AVAILABLE, AND NOT TIED UP BY OTHER HARDWARE.
