Several days ago I noticed that my home page was changed to "Fast Search" and then on a re-boot, I got an error message reference fntldr.exe. I did some research and discovered this was the sign of the Adware=Search Counter Trojan. I found instructions at Symantec on how to remove it and correct the Registry. However, it kept coming back although the change in the Config.sys never returned, I continue to have my registry re-written. I even installed the update for Internet Explorer 6 from windows and thought everything was fine. However, on my last re-boot, the problem returned.

What can I do to get rid of this? I can't find too much on the net reference this particular Trojan.

You need to delete your IE Cache and than use ad-aware to get rid of them and than you'll need East-tec Eraser to perminitly eraser them beyond recovery but be advise that if u deleate some commpont that windows needs its gone so understand how it works before using it Fix-It has detected viruses worms and trojens and redgitry problem and its what keeps my computer stay healthy.
