Not all of the time, but quite often, when I am downloading an attached file from email to my Microsoft Word program it comes up with this error message. Wordpad has caused an error in MSWRD832.CNV Wordpad will now close. If you continue experiencing this problem, restart your computer. If I restart it still does the same thing.

It appears the file was created using Microsoft Word 2000 which WordPad will not be able to open unless it was saved in a Rich Text Format If the person can save the file in a Rich Text Format you should be able to open it

Secod Method Save as Word 6.0/95

In Microsoft Word 2000, save your Word document as Word 6.0/95 To do this, follow these steps:

1 Open your document in Word 2000

2 On the File menu, click Save As

3 In the Save As dialog box, follow these steps:

1 In the File name box, type a new file name for the Word document that you want to open in WordPad

2 Change the Save as type box to Word 6.0/95 (*.doc)

3 Click Save.

4 On the File menu, click Close to close the document that you want to open in WordPad.

Another alternative is to get the free

Microsoft Word Viewer

This can be downloaded from the Microsoft Download Center.
