Recently, my mouse has decided to uninstall itself. It doesn't matter what I'm doing at the time, it will just freeze and then after a few seconds the hourglass will come up and go away and then it will no longer work. Everything else still works after this happens and I don't lose anything. I have to use the keyboard to save and close before rebooting. I look in system devices and it is no longer there when it was before. It is a USB mouse (microsoft intellimouse) and used to work fine. I'm thinking that maybe the old PS/2 mouse software is trying to reinstall itself and is removing it. when I reboot it will work ok for a while. Can you help?
