Can I, or should I, upgrade a PII, 400Mhz system w/128 mg RAM and Windows 98 to Windows XP Professional so I can upgrade to Office 2003 for work at home.

Although you can technically install Windows XP Pro on a PII 400Mhz (done it.), especially for the purpose of installing Office 2003 may not run as well as you woudl expect it to - Windows XP will drastically slow down your machine and if you run office 2k3 if will be even slower yYou may wish to try some other alternative like running Office XP on your Windows 98 - just remeber that when you save a file, change the save as type to an earlier version of office to maximize compatability between versions.
