I have ripped a cd using autocatalyst and I can not get the resulting .MP3 to play on my machine. I have checked the muting in all my installed stuff, ie music player, singmp3player, real player ... and they all seemed to be ok.

Any clues where to look?

Thank you.

EAC is far from being intuitive It took me quite a few minutes before I figured out how to make it work, but once you know it it's very simple Here's my streamlined and highly optimized process of ripping and encoding with EAC:

launch EAC

insert CD and wait until it gets recognized and CDDB info gets retrieved from the server

select all tracks (mouse or Ctrl-A)

to rip and encode press "F5" (or choose "Action\Copy selected tracks" from menu)

when it's done copy the files to destination directory
