A file named with the single tilde character (~) appears on my desktop from time to time. I would like to know what I am supposed to do with it. When I Google it I get only two relevant sites that I do not know and seem to offer conflicting advice. I keep windows and my Anti-Virus software updated. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you very much

and Merry Christmas

Blessed Be,

Charles Sizemore

Usually a file with a ~ in front of the filename means that the file is a temporary file will would indicate why sometimes you see it and other times you dont ExampleIf you have a Word document saved in a folder, whenever you open that file in Word it creates a ~ file in the directory of the original file.
