What problem do I have with my hard drive, when using the boot disc I cannot access drive C: and get this message. "invalid media type reading drive C:" thanks for any input

The system BIOS cannot read the partition table information Boot from a floppy disk and use Fdisk command to examine the table.If it is corrupted which might be the result of a boot sector virus try the Fdisk/MBR command to restore the master boot program If this does not work you can repartition the drive but you will lose all the data on the drive If the data is important and is not backed up try third-party data recovery software to recovery the drive and its data before repartitioning.
