Uninstall program

Two Questions:

1) when I run scandisk, it says unable, tried 10 times...

What could be the reason?

2)I have an unwanted program on my computer called "hot surprise". I am unable to use add/remove to remove this specific program. Any help?

You may also want to check the folder for that program to see if it has an uninstall feature, as for you scandisk problem if you are not seeing an error message then it may be possible that something installed on your machine is preventing scandisk for starting, I would suggest that you run a virus scan to check your system.
