Hi there,

This gets a little complicated so bear with me.

I had W98 installed on the computer however it continuously crashed after a whle, screen froze etx, sometimes did not boot up at all. Could not find a solution as I thought it was initially the graphics card but all drivers are up to date there. I decided to upgrade to Windows 2000.

This seemed to fix the problem I had with the crashes but other problems surfaced. Buttons would not work on IE5.0 and more seriously I could not install any software, continuously getting the message "The InstallShieldManager(ikernel.exe) will not start. The RPC server is unavailable" I have a 10MB/Second Broadband connection, a Matrox Milenium G200 (8MB) Graphics card. The same probles that I have on IE do not seem to be so prevelant in Netscape 71. even though the same problem does sometimes occur.

Just after I boot up my computer everything works fine but after a little while the above problems start to kick in.

Hope you can help, thanks in advance.

You may want to consider backing-up important files and reinstalling your Operating System, it seems that your problems have also been upgraded - in this case of several problems resulting in your computer not being able to function properly I would go with the backup and reinstallation, that way you have a clean install and your computer should be problem free.
