My computer stopped booting up. I get a blank blue screen, movable cursor, but no desktop icons, nothing on right click. Ran many diagnistics, anti-virus, reconfigs, safe mode diagnostics,.

Was then hit or miss in start up, sometimes it would and sometimes not. Always took a long time (5-10 min.) for icons to appear.

After one of diagnostice restarts in safe mode, computer restarted in main user profile and worked for about 2 days until it froze, so...rebooted and than same problem. Tried scanreg/restore, but dates were all used up on "not started" tries, for some reason the latest working restart was not on the registry. Then tried step by step confirm. and it started in OK in user 2, but could not get icons to appear at all in main user (waited at least an hour).

Thanks,

Terry (Hope the email works, I can't get to mine).
