I read the question on the XP startup being slow and that the answer is to tune up the speed option but can anyone tell me where I can find the speed option?

Speed is really a memory issue.

For all software there is a minimum requirement and a recommended requirement It is always

best to with the recommended requirement.

For XP, the recommended requirement is:

Pentium II 300 MHz or better

128 MB up to 4 GB (memory)

hard drive partition should be at least 2GB or more

free space on hard drive partition should also be 2 GB or more (This is very important if you wish the OS to perform to expectation.

If your computer has not met these requirements, then your computer needs to be configured to match.
