My computer has just started shutting off right in the middle of any kind of operation such as a music download or a virus scan. It will start right back up and it will run with no problems for browsing the internet, or sending/receiving e-mail, but if I do anything tha taxes the processor, it wil run for a while and then just shut off. I thought it was an overheating problem, so I installed a new heatsink on the athlon 2100xp processor. After that I ran Spybot S & D and I got about a third of the way through the scan when it shut off. Is the power supply pooping out? Thanks for your help.

Richard

You may have a power supply problem Check your house circuitry and the amount of equipment that may be connected Also, since you installed a new part, check of conflicts and compatability.
