My computer has crashed!

When I try to start the computer, it will go through the checks and then since it did not start correctly the last time, it will then ask what mode to start in (Safe, etc). Once a choice is made, Windows XP trys to startup, and a blue screen comes up so quckly I cannot read it and then the computer retarts again. Is there any way to slow things down so I can find out what the problem is?
