Opening PDF files in Acrobat?

How can I change a downloaded e-book PDF file from trying to be opened by Notepad? For some reason Windows is not recognizing Adobe Acrobat as the opener. All the e-books I downloaded to Desktop or Download files are now showing the Notepad icon. I can open them by going directly into Adobe Acrobat, but they won't open from the file itself or from the desktop shortcut. Instead I get an error window saying file is too large for Notepad. I tried downloading one e-book again, but the problem remained. I even tried deleting Notepad, but the computer wouldn't allow downloading in that Notepad wasn't available. Strangest problem I've ever had, so your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom Daniel

It seems that you PDF ile associations are wrong What you can to do remedy this problem is to right-click on any PDF file and select "open with" when prompted with the program list select adobe acrobat and make sure that the check box that reads "Always ue the selected program to open this type of file" is checked, that way when ever you try to open a PDF file it will always look for Adobe Acrobat.
