How can I get rid of the http:// prefix?

Whenever I type in a web address, it shows up with a prefix address attached: http://boredlife.com/p/

What is this and how can I get rid of it?

" http" which stand for Hypertext Transfer Protocol, is the protocol used for the World Wide Web, and is used by Web browesers and Wed servers to communicate Without it you will not be able to access the internet.

You CANNOT get rid of it
