My laptop worked until 2 months ago. Last night when going to start the computer, the display screen had several big areas of lines through it not allowing you to see the icons beneath them. These lines remain even after restarting the computer. The computer is stored in a leather carry bag in a closet until it is in use. The computer has not been damaged that I know of, except for the temperature that the closet remains, which matches the temp outside due to poor insulation. Could this be the problem, and how would I fix the screen to get rid of the lines.

You should try booting your laptop in safe-mode and see if that resolves that problem? if so you may have a video driver issue If when you enter safe-mode you still are experiencing the same problem it may be the display has gone (maybe due to temperature) you may need to contact you laptop manufacturer to have it replaced - check to see if your laptop is still under warranty - it may be covered.
